There are many reasons why getting new towels is the best decorating idea. One of the reasons is that it’s really easy to change the look of your bathroom with new towels. It’s also a way to refresh your bathroom and have a different look every season by switching out your towels for something in a different colour or pattern.

How do you choose what towels are right for you though?

There is a huge debate about whether white towels are the king or if adding colour is the way to go.

White towels go with everything, they are classic and easy to clean, they don’t fade and if you need to get new towels they will still match your old towels. But, they stain, go yellow and may not be the most exciting choice.

Those are the pros and cons. But you still have to consider YOUR space, small spaces prefer lighter colours. In a larger space, dark colours can add a bit of cosiness. Then think about how you want your bathroom to feel.

Once you figure out what feeling you want out of it then choose colours that translate those feelings. Like citrusy colours are energetic. Deep reds can be romantic. Minty greens can be cool and calm etc.

Lastly, think about how you will be using the towels. If your towels work hard in your household get more durable toweling material. If you are going to be using them for your face and you are fond of mascara maybe white is not your best friend.
